In order to further strengthen the construction of the faculty of School of Foreign Languages and continuously improve the professional teaching level and quality of the faculty, on October 26, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, the School of Foreign Languages successfully held the 11th Teaching Competition in Room 201, Building A, according to the “Notice on Holding the 11th Teaching Competition for Teachers of Jiangsu University”. Seven teachers from the English Department, the Japanese Department, the European Department and the Basic College English Department participated in the competition. The judges are Xu Wei, Director of the Department of Planning and Development; Su Jianhong, Vice dean of the School of Overseas Education; Zhang Qi 'an, supervisor of the undergraduate teaching quality; Wang Yuefang, senior teacher representative of the school, and Wu Yuanyuan, deputy director of the Extended College English Development and head of national first-class undergraduate courses. The competition was presided over by Wu Peng, vice president of the School of Foreign Languages. More than 100 teachers from the school watched the competition together.
At the beginning of the competition, Li Chongyue, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, made a brief speech. He stressed that the teaching level and teaching ability of teachers are an important reflection of the college development. The college continues to care about and support the development of teachers, encourage teachers to participate in various teaching competitions, and will continue to increase incentives. Then, the teachers participated carefully designed the teaching links, excavated the key and difficult points and adopted a variety of teaching methods to add the ideological and political aspects into language teaching. During the competition, the teachers' vivid language, detailed content, dignified teaching manner and active atmosphere fully demonstrated the solid professional foundation and outstanding teaching ability of the front-line teachers of our school.
After the competition, the five judges and experts made detailed comments on the competition, fully affirmed the excellent performance of the participating teachers, and put forward professional opinions on foreign language education and teaching. Experts encourage teachers to strengthen their learning, improve their professional quality, and be brave in innovation to truly shoulder the mission and responsibility of education in the new era.
