On the afternoon of October 19th, the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering held an ideological and political school-level demonstration open class for the course "Traffic Safety" in Classroom 2311 of the college. This open class was presided over by Geng Guoqing, vice president of the Automotive College, and lectured by Ni Jie, associate professor from the Department of Traffic Engineering. The young teachers participated in this teaching observation.
The course of "Traffic Safety" is a school-level first-class course, and has been selected as an ideological and political demonstration project in 2020. The theme of this open class was "driving fatigue mechanism and detection method". During the course introduction, Ni Jie proposed the importance of road traffic safety for building China's strength in transportation. For the common unsafe traffic behavior of driving fatigue, Ni Jie explained the basic definition, mechanism, and detection methods of driving fatigue. In the course, Nijie guided students to see the essence of things, understand and master the regular pattern of things' development by typical cases and solutions. The "people-oriented" concept was proposed for the solution of fatigue accidents. From the typical problem of driving fatigue, students were guided to think about their mission, knowledge reserves, professional quality, and practical innovation ability, and were encouraged to contribute their own strength to the implementation of building China into a country with strong transportation network. The course realized the interactive integration and efficient collaboration of ideological and political content and professional knowledge in the silent moisturizing of things. The demonstration class was fully affirmed by the teachers present.
After the course, Vice Dean Geng Guoqing organized young teachers to communicate on the spot, and pointed out that the college had carried out in-depth and solid ideological and political construction and discussion of courses in the past year, which had improved the quality of personnel training. It is hoped that teachers can strengthen our mission, update teaching concepts, and effectively play the role in the educational function of classroom teaching.
