On October 18th, 2022, in the evening of class 3 and 4, the School Of Liberal Arts held a demonstration public class entitled "Introduction to Chinese Cultural Classics" in 804, Sanjiang building. Wang Zhihua, a teacher from the Department of Chinese language and literature, delivered a lecture in this open class. In the class, based on the Book of Songs ,and using teaching method of combining PPT and explanation to have a more comprehensive understanding of the historical background, ritual and music system, cultural beliefs and other aspects of the generation of the Book of Songs, namely, the Elegant Songs, and the important value of the Book of Songs in the process of inheriting Chinese culture from a new perspective.

Miss. Wang's open class is divided into six parts: the meaning of national style, several interpretations of ‘elegance’, the meaning of ‘ode’, the internal relationship of ‘ode to elegance’, and the important value of Chinese cultural inheritance. First of all, Miss. Wang took the historical background of the generation period of the Book of Songs as the starting point, introduced the ‘fifteen country ethos’ in the form of documentary evidence. Finally, she summarized that ‘wind’ was closely related to the ‘destiny’ of the Western Zhou Dynasty. Secondly, by looking for the logical relationship between wind、elegance and ode, and contrast the similarities and differences. Last but not least, it is concluded that the time span of the composition of the Book of Songs is an extremely important period for the development of Chinese national culture, and it is pointed out that the Book of Songs is a classic in the period when our national cultural foundation was formed. In class, the students closely followed the teacher's teaching ideas, listened carefully and attentively, and actively answered the teacher's questions, forming a good teaching atmosphere.

After class, several teachers from the Chinese Language and Literature Department also put forward their opinions and suggestions on the teaching process. The open course of " Introduction to Chinese Cultural Classics ‘’——“Guide to the Book of the Songs” has sublimated and baptized the students’ minds and has played a certain role in promoting the students to understand the content and the role of the Book of Songs from another perspective.
