    "Internal Combustion Engine" ideological and political demonstration open class of school-level was held successfully in School of Automobile and Traffic Engineering

    On the afternoon of November 24th, the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering held an ideological and political school-level demonstration open class (special session) for the course "Internal Combustion Engines" in Classroom 2204 of the college. This open class was lectured by Shao Shanshan from the Department of Power Engineering. The course of "Internal Combustion Engines" is a school-level first-class course, and has been selected as an ideological and political demonstration project in 2021. The leaders of the School of Automobile and Traffic Engineering have attached great importance to it. Vice President Geng Guoqing, key teachers of various departments and young teachers in assistant teaching period participated in this teaching observation.

    The theme of this open class is "Generation Mechanism and Influencing Factors of Diesel Engine Pollutants". During the course introduction, Shao Shanshan started from major national strategic directions such as "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", combined with major industry events such as the 2021 International Conference on Internal Combustion Engine, and then proposed the necessity and urgency of improving the thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines and controlling pollutant emissions. Shen encouraged students to strengthen their confidence, accept challenges, and work hard to help achieve the goal of carbon neutrality. Regarding the emission of particulate matter and nitrogen oxide pollutants, the “public and general emission gate” incident was taken as the entry point to warn students to establish a scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts, and respect facts in study and work with no falsehoods. Facing the arduous task of controlling emissions from internal combustion engines, Shao Shanshan combined with the major events of the “Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee” and put forward “There is no hope of yesterday’s suffering and glory, and I am worthy of today’s mission and live up to tomorrow’s great dreams”, encouraging students to do practical things down-to-earth. The course realizes the interactive integration and efficient collaboration of ideological and political content and professional knowledge in the silent moisturizing of things. The demonstration class was fully affirmed by the students and teachers present, and aroused the students' deep understanding and high recognition of family and country sentiments, professional ethics, industry norms, and social responsibilities.

    After the course, Vice Dean Geng Guoqing organized on-site exchanges among young teachers, pointing out the highlights of the ideological and political elements of the classroom teaching and the details that need to be strengthened, and emphasized that professional course teaching should achieve value shaping, knowledge transfer, and talent cultivation The in-depth integration of the industry must be implemented in detail.
