On February 24th, after being selected as one of the first batch of virtual teaching and research offices of the Ministry of Education, UJS virtual teaching and research office of college physics course group held the first online seminar of the four universities in Yangtze River Delta in the 3rd lecture hall of UJS conference centre. Prof. Wang Qing from Tsinghua university, director of the Steering Committee of College Physics Course of higher education, Ministry of Education, was invited for guidance. Prof. Shi Jianqing and teacher Li Zhen from Zhejiang University of Technology, associate dean Li Jinbin from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, director Li Zhongyao and associate director Yu Haitao from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Teaching Supervisor Feng Jun from Jiangsu University attended the seminar. The online seminar was hosted by Chen Yuanping, the executive associate dean of School of Physics and Electronic Engineering.
Chen Yuanping firstly expressed sincere gratitude for Prof. Wang Qing’s attendance and the support of the three brother universities. He then introduced the main topics of the online seminar, namely, how to further promote cooperation of the six core sections of the virtual teaching and research office- "Jinshan Teachers Lecturing Hall ", "Zijin Golden Class Garden", "Mengxi Teacher Training Park", "Qiantang Teacher Evaluation Forum", "Sanjiang Teacher Competition Platform" and "Huangpu Ideological and Political Pavilion", what conditions of software and hardware are needed for the co-construction of the four universities, what the teaching and research office can provide for the work of the Steering Committee of University Physics Course and the time and frequency of regular online and offline seminars, etc. Various views on the above topics were respectively expressed by the relevant leaders of each university.
Finally, director Wang Qing fully affirmed the early application work and the recent preparatory work of the joint construction. He also put forward suggestions on how to improve the teaching and research ability of teachers by using the national virtual teaching and research office platform, refine the characteristics of teaching reform, and share quality teaching resources with the whole country, especially with the central and western regions. Moreover, he stressed that the construction of virtual teaching and research office should be deeply considered in terms of the effectiveness, characteristics and highlights.
This online seminar not only shared the joy of the official approval of the virtual teaching and research office, but also fired the starting gun on how to cooperate with the others to build this national platform in the future.
