From April 12 to 16, the 2021 Young Faculty’s Basic Teaching Skill Training that lasted for a week was conducted in Room A201 of the Main Building, with a view to helping young faculty members of the University to master the basic teaching skills required of a novice and quickly promoting their teaching level. The training program was offered by the Center for Faculty Development of Jiangsu University. Members of Jiangsu University Faculty Development Training Team were giving lectures to the faculty in the period of teaching assistantship and the newly employed supporting staff. The training adds up to 656 person-times up to now.
The training modules are as follows:
Module 1 “Experience the interactive teaching under the assistance of new media teaching technology”, which offers the immersion teaching experience through the two-way interaction of a new media learning terminal;
Module 2 “Be a qualified faculty member for a new era”, which offers instructions to young teachers on how to be a qualified university teacher with “Four Merits” for a new era;
Module 3 “Classroom instruction that entails promoting teaching by competition and benefiting both teachers and students”, which may inspire the faculty to grow rapidly by participating in more teaching competitions;
Module 4 “Classroom instruction that entails promoting teaching by research and the mutual promotion of teaching and research”, which turns teaching into a process of scientific research and research into a display of teaching;
Module 5 “Practical skills for classroom instruction design”, which vividly demonstrates a perfect teaching design and the practical skills for efficient classroom instruction.
This year’s training program offers the basic teaching skills to young faculty, quickly turning them into qualified teachers. It plays an important role in promoting the teaching level and quality of young faculty. The Center will provide a permanent platform and services for faculty development and strive to accelerate the faculty growth and development of Jiangsu University.
