In order to welcome the "Fifth All-English Teaching Contest of Jiangsu University", the School of Computer Science held the Fifth All-English Teaching Contest in room 109 of Computer Building on the afternoon of October 27. Six teachers recommended by various departments participated in the competition. The judges of this competition were Professor Zhan Yongzhao, Professor Mao Qirong, Professor Chen Jinfu, Professor Cheng Keyang, and Director Zheng Wenyi. Teachers from various departments of the college actively participated in observing the competition, and the competition was a complete success.
The participating teachers carefully prepared, with explicit teaching purpose, clear teaching ideas, reasonable teaching process design, accurate and refined language expression, and unique and novel teaching methods. The participating teachers' smooth explanations, beautiful blackboard writing, dignified, generous and free manners demonstrated strong teaching skills and teacher demeanor. The teaching competition was successfully held, which promoted communication and learning among teachers.
Based on the principles of objectiveness and fairness and a serious attitude, the judges evaluated the classroom teaching of the participating teachers. Two first prizes (Wu Xiulin, Wang Liangjun), two second prizes (Liu Jinping, Xia Jing), and two third prizes (Liu Huan, Shi Leilei) were finally selected. According to the requirements and regulations of the school documents, two teachers will be recommended to participate in the finals of the 5th Jiangsu University English Teaching Competition respectively.
Finally, Professor Zhan Yongzhao made detailed comments on the competition and gave guidance on the teaching design, teaching methods, and on-site performance of the participating teachers. Valuable opinions and suggestions were put forward to participating teachers and observing teachers. This all-English teaching competition is a demonstration of the English teaching level of our college, and it also builds a platform for our teachers to learn and exchange and jointly improve the teaching level.
