In order to improve the comprehensive professional quality of the teachers, update the teaching conception, enhance the practical operation of teaching reformatory and raise teaching standards of young teachers, Prof. Wei Shengli was invited to give a presentation at 10:00 am on May 11th. The presentation was a demonstration teaching class about Development of Automotive Engine New Technology (Currant Study Situation of Zero-Carbon-Fuel Engines), which organized by School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering. Deputy Dean Geng Guoqing gave a speech on the significance of the demonstration class and Prof. Wei’s main achievements in teaching before class. Some department heads and young teachers attended the class.
Prof. Wei, the main teacher of the core courses of Energy and Power Engineering, has more than 10 years of rich teaching experience. He has participated in the teaching competition of young teachers, micro-teaching competition for overseas students in China. In addition, Prof. Wei served as a teacher in the Zambian agricultural machinery training class. He published a teaching reform paper about the mixed teaching model which based on ‘flipped classroom’, and was approved to give a teaching reform demonstration class at Jiangsu University.
This demonstration class centered the Zero-Carbon-Fuel Engines, while the main teaching links were divided into teachers' guidance, students' group presentation, mutual evaluation and questioning, practice consolidation, class summary and so on. The main teaching content is the research status of hydrogen engines and ammonia engines under the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. During the class, the students were guided to contribute their own strength to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Prof. Wei adopted the ‘flipped classroom’ and intelligent teaching tools such as Rain Classroom, combine theory with practice and interacting well with students, to enhance class experience comprehensively. The advanced teaching concepts and flexible teaching methods throughout the entire teaching process, which fully demonstrated Prof. Wei’s full understanding of the frontiers of the subject, solid professional knowledge and rigorous teaching attitude.
This open class teaching activity has created a platform for all teachers to communicate and study, which effectively improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching and promote the reform, improve the teaching level and promote the construction of first-class majors in School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering.
