In the 5th and 6th periods of lesson on the afternoon of March 23, the School of Mechanical Engineering successfully held the demonstration class of this semester (2020-2021-2) in Room 208 of Sanshan Building. The demonstration class is given just in the scheduled time. Cai Jie, who won the first prize for the “Senior Professional Title Holders Group of the 10th Faculty Teaching Competition” of Jiangsu University, gave the lecture to Class 1903 and Class 1904 of the Mechanics Program. More than 10 faculty members of the School attended the demonstration class.
The demonstration class is entitled “Fundamentals of Engineering Material and Its Forming”. The teaching content is the heat treatment of steel, mainly including the overview of heat treatment, the microstructure transformation of steel during heating and the microstructure transformation during cooling.
Cai delivered his lecture in a sonorous and contagious voice. By explaining knowledge points with examples, he fully mobilized the enthusiasm of students. He also paid special attention to the communication and interaction with students, which well reflected the teaching concept of taking students as the activator of the class. After class, the participants had a discussion with Cai. Young teachers benefited a lot from this demonstration class, which would help improve the level of classroom instruction of the School.
