At 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 31, 2021, all the young teachers in the teaching assistant period from the School of Medicine watched and studied the open course called "Immunology and Immunolaboratory", which was directed by Professor Xia Sheng from the School of Medicine in Jiangsu University in the lecture hall group 103.
First of all, Professor Xia began with the pollen allergy caused by the flowers in the beautiful garden of Jiangsu University, and the well-known "life-saving" and "fatal" cases of ABO blood transfusion that students are familiar with. Professor Xia led the students to think about the etiology and pathogenic mechanism behind the symptom, and finally introduced the theme of the class -- "hypersensitivity disease and its test".
In class, Professor Xia shared several clinical cases of type I hypersensitivity reaction based on his own life experience, and guided students to review the basic concepts and theoretical knowledge involved in previous course by some questions.
In the discussion and analysis of the case, students' initiative to reflect on the problem is fully mobilized, and then integrated into the atmosphere of classroom interaction, this condition continuously improve students' ability of communication, organization and expression.
Professor Xia demonstrated the interaction between different immune cells in type I hypersensitivity reaction by illustrating the dynamic regulation process and regulation mechanism between immune cells and immune molecules vividly.
In addition, by analyzing the differences between different types of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines under the current COVID-19, Professor Xia actively guided students to think about the safety issues in the vaccination process, which provided a sufficient theoretical basis for us to vaccinate scientifically and eliminate safety concerns. At the same time, it also makes teaching more vivid, diversified, close to life, and avoids boring.
During this open course, it provides guidance for young teachers in teaching preparation, teaching methods, teaching interaction, student-centered teaching philosophy and other aspects, and effectively promotes the comprehensive improvement of young teachers' teaching level and ability.
