To further elevate teachers’ ability of blended teaching design and application at Jiangsu University, deepen teaching reform, and facilitate the integration of IT technology and classroom teaching, the Center for Faculty Development of Jiangsu University carried out training programs of “Elevating Teachers’ Ability of Blended Teaching Design and Application” in the third lecture hall of the Conference Center on March 4, which was participated in by 109 teachers.
This training was greatly supported by the Online Open Courses Center of Jiangsu Colleges and Universities, which designated Qiao Ling, associate professor at Southeast University, and Diao Xinyue, a senior training lecturer at China Universities’ MOOC to come to Jiangsu University to give “on-the-spot”guidance. The training was divided into two parts: first, associate professor Qiao Ling, hostess of first national blended on-line and off-line first-class courses, shared her experience in course construction, utilization and application; then, Diao Xinyue conducted practical training of the application and operation of smart teaching tools based on the first online first-class courses.
Through this training, teachers’ teaching skills are effectively promoted. Their understanding of blended teaching was deepened. They learned explicitly the requirements of blended teaching, mastered design methods of blended teaching and grasped points of attention in course construction.
